Great books of the year!

The award for top book of the year goes to.................................
Okay, I can't really pick just one. I have read so many books this year that are very good! I love to sit down and read a good book from cover to cover but rarely get to.

So, here goes. Some of my favorite books this year. The best fictional books in my opinion are the ones that are a self-help kinda book wrapped up in a story. They change you and the lesson sticks with you alot longer than any self-help book you'll ever read. Not in any particular order.
A Time to dance by Karen Kingsbury
A Time to Embrace by Karen Kingsbury
These books opened my eyes to the little things that can cause a marriage to disintegrate over time. The second was a continuation of the first but with a new lesson. It was about how God has a plan for our lives. We may not understand it and there will be trouble but he uses our troubles to change others and bring them to him. I must warn you that it was a sad book. I felt like crying the whole time I read it. But, it was very good.

The Scarlet Thread by Francine Rivers
This book was also about marriage and it makes you consider the little things that you remain angry about and how they steal your marriage away. It's also about trusting God. Listening to God and not others about what you should do.
The Atonement Child by Francine Rivers
This book is about a child concieved in rape and how many prominent christians push and almost force her to have an abortion. This was very eye opening. I would recommend you read it for yourself to fully get the points and emotions of all the characters.

Non-fictional books:
Lies Women Believe by Nancy Leigh Demoss
Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp(This is the most important book to read regarding parenting with the exception of the Bible).

I am sure I have read more books than these but I can't think of any right off that I have read and they made a big impression on me.

I hope all of you enjoy the last few days of the year! Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a very Merry Christmas at my house. I hope it was at yours also. I enjoyed gathering with our extended family. But, most of all I enjoyed being with my husband and two boys. I am so grateful that God has blessed me with a Godly man for a husband and two very sweet and healthy boys. There is no doubt in my mind at all that it was God who put my husband and me together. I am blessed far beyond what I could have imagined for my life.
Anyways, more about our Christmas! We enjoyed celebrating Advent this month. This is the first time I have ever celebrated Advent by lighting the Advent candles and we also read a book each night called The Advent Book. It is a beautiful book with a door to open each night and read on. We finished our last reading last night. We also enjoyed singing Happy Birthday to Jesus yesterday! The boys had candles in their cinnamon rolls to blow out. The were also very excited to wake up and find all their toys. The train set has run almost non-stop since yesterday! (All aboard) We also enjoyed all the yummy food thanks my husbands mom!!!
Well, I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas as well. But, I hope most of all you remembered that Jesus is the Reason for the Season. Keep close to him in the coming year. Make a effort to read and study your Bible daily and draw closer to him in prayer.
God bless you all

Today Zoey turns 3! So, please all say a prayer for her mom:) I am sure Zoey will have a great year.
P.S. By the way, there is a picture of the cake because I made it (White Chocolate with twinkie-like filling and vanilla buttercream icing.) Just wanted to make your mouth water a bit. I also do not want to post other peoples' children without permission.

Happy Birthday RaShelle!!!!!!!!
I made this purse cake for my friend Rashelle. This is a Strawberry Cheesecake flavored cake with vanilla buttercream under Strawberry Marshmellow Fondant with Chocolate Buttercream icing accents. Pull up a chair, close your eyes and imagine yourself at her party taking a bite! Yum!!!!
I hope you enjoy your Birthday Rashelle! You have been such a great friend.
Just wanted you to know
How special you really are,
A friend I’ve relied upon
And hold dear to my heart
May God bless your day
In whatever you may do
And wherever you may be, my friend
I will say a prayer for you.
