Blessings and Joy

Hey everyone! We've been really busy this week with our company that stayed in our home. We were blessed so much by their visit. The boys had the best time playing with all the kids. My husband and I both enjoyed our full house! We are recovering today because it has been non-stop. Our guests were so nice and even bought me Roses! Can you believe it? I am actually hoping that they need to return next week because already last night we missed them. They were here lobbying to pass the bill to Legalize home births with a midwife. God has just poured on the blessings this week. I have so much Joy in my heart right now that it feels like I will burst! I would break out in song but you would probably cover your ears so I will break out in Psalm instead! This passage has been on my heart all week.

Psalm 145:10-12 15-17

"All your works shall praise You, O LORD, And your saints shall bless You. They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, And talk of your power. To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, And the glorious majesty of His kingdom. "

"The eyes of all look expectantly to You,.....You open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. The LORD is righteous in all His ways, Gracious in all his works."

On top of having our guests I have been making tons of Cake truffles with a friend for the Women's conference at our church. They turned out beautiful and after tasting a "few" I am very sure no one will die from eating them! Although my word for them is "heavenly." That is what I first thought after making them for the first time. This conference will be a Women's worship event. I can't wait to go. We are having Desserts only and will be tasting the Word of God with lots of chocolate!
I hope that all of you will pray for the bill on Home births and Midwives to pass this soon!

Zoo Day!

Hey all! We had a great time at the zoo with our friends last week. Here are some pictures of the boys enjoying the zoo. The biggest hit for the boys was the train. I was trying to make the trip a little educational by pointing out the animals and naming them when I told Big T. to look at the Warthog he said "That's like Pumba." (The Lion King) He really knows how to stump me sometimes.

Works for me Wednesday

Cake Truffle Recipe (Warning---very good and addictive!)

2cups of Crumbled Cake (finely crumbled with mixer)
2 Tbsp. of Powdered Sugar
2 Tbsp. of Cocoa Powder (depends on flavor of cake)
Small amount of your choice of Flavored liquid coffee creamer. (I use French Vanilla mostly) Use only enough to bind everything together.
1/4 cup of chopped nuts, miniture chocolate chips, toffee bites, etc. (pick only one)

Mix all ingredients together with mixer and then roll into balls or use small cookie scoop and place on Parchement paper lined sheet pans. Place in freezer until frozen. Then you can dip in chocolate or leave frozen and place in ziploc bag to dip later.

This recipe is great for leftover cake, just scrape off icing and put cake in the freezer to mix up when you have time. The drier the cake is, the better the truffles will be. You can even take a bad cake and make these delicious.

Some flavors I have tried are Red Velvet with pecans dipped in Vanilla candy melts, Chocolate with toffee bites, Chocolate with cream cheese added to make Chocolate Cheese cake.
For other great tips visit Shannon at Rocks in my dryer.
Enjoy!

The weeks are flying by!

Our weeks have just seemed to fly by. Somehow we stay so busy that the weekend is here before we know it each week. I just finished my last Cake Class on Fondant and Gumpaste. So, here is a picture of my final cake. It really looked like a hat because the board was covered and the board was too large. I was really pleased with the flowers. By the way I did make those flowers they are not artificial! Just to clarify!!!! I am still in shock that I can actually do something "crafty."
The boys have been enjoying the warm weather that we have had. We even went to the park last week with friends and had a picnic! We have also been enjoying having "school." I just purchased curriculum recently to teach Big T. for his first year. We include Taylor also. Big T. is doing great learning to read. He is surprising me at how fast he is moving along. I am very proud of him.
Well, I hope you have enjoyed the update.
